FROM COORDINATOR
Parking:
We ask that singers not park in the church lot, and to please park at a distance so that the audience members can find parking more easily. The afternoon concert often draws an older population, and they have been known to drive back home if parking is difficult. Let the singers know that the apartment lot near the cathedral is off limits...they will tow in a heart-beat. The Quality Hill Parking Garage Parking (530W W 12th St) is usually wide open, and most of our singers will find street parking at a distance and walk in. Tell the singers to leave nothing of value in their cars and to lock up the car. (FYI-We have never had trouble with car break-ins, but the young folks should use caution.) From personal experience, I can say that parking is rough at the Gold Dome. I'd encourage the students to arrive as early as possible, and to carpool if they can.
Arrival:
The singers can use any entrance. We can leave our things in the chapel at the back of the sanctuary. It's probably best to bring as little into the cathedral as possible. There are bathrooms and water fountains in the lower level.
Timing:
1:00 Joint-piece rehearsal (would your accompanist play this?) followed by Ray-Pec rehearsal
1:30 Open the House
2:00 Concert Time! :)
